Medical Report

Chief Medical Officer: Dr. Janet Fraiser

Daniel Jackson is in good health, and his physical fitness is consistent with his age. He suffers from various allergies, aggravated by travelling through the Stargate, which he treats with antihistamines. Regular medical check-ups are advised. He shows high caffeine levels and should cut down on coffee. He seems to live on his nerves, and his brain works best under pressure. Although this is not dangerous in the short term, I recommend caution, as the long-term effects can be excessive nervousness and anxiety. Eye tests are advised, as he shows a loss of visual acuity in his left eye, which may worsen with Stargate travel. He is prone to vertigo.

Myoglobin levels

This protein is released into the bloodstream when the heart or a muscle is damaged.

high / medium / low

1.07 – 2.03 – 2.05 – 3.01 – 4.18 – 5.07 – 5.21

Serious Injuries

- M05.21 Exposed to a lethal dose of neutron radiation. Suffered ataxia – loss of muscle control, convulsions and radiation necrosis, inflammation and degeneration of the internal organs and brain tissue. Ascended
- M05.07 Shot by a zat and subjected to a pain stick. Recovered after complete rest
- M04.18 Exposed to an addictive Goa'uld drug. Aggressive and suicidal tendencies. Coma leading to a flat EEG. Withdrawal symptoms subsided after three weeks

- M03.01 Deep wound to the right leg, stitched. Put on antibiotics
- M02.05 Killed in a cave-in. Revived in a Goa'uld sarcophagus. Became addicted to the sarcophagus. His myoglobin levels showed muscle mass breakdown and loss of cell function. Withdrawal symptoms from forced sarcophagus deprivation, but made a full recovery
- M02.03 Strangled, lost consciousness. Severe bruising to the neck
- M02.01 Hit by a staff weapon blast and left for dead. Healed by the sarcophagus

Brain Scan

The frontal lobe of Daniel's brain, the area of associative processes such as thought, learning and memory, is highly developed [highlighted on the scan]. This overdeveloped area enhances his ability to absorb new languages and to memorise such a vast and varied vocabulary.

Psychological Evaluation

Dr. Jackson has suffered many severe emotional traumas in his life: the death of his parents and his foster parents, then the capture, enslavement and death of his wife. He is vulnerable to psychological manipulation.

**Main psychological traumas:**

M02.05 – After repeated use of a sarcophagus, Daniel showed schizophrenic tendencies. Back at the SGC, he displayed serious withdrawal symptoms. His brain chemistry was unbalanced, causing irrational and aggressive behaviour. Daniel was kept in the infirmary while he recovered from these harmful effects.

M03.04 – On returning from P3C-599, Daniel showed schizophrenic tendencies. He was moved to a psychiatric ward for observation. There, it emerged that he was infected by an alien organism designed by Machello to destroy the Goa'uld. He quickly recovered once the organism was removed.

M07.01 – Found with amnesia on the planet Vis Uban. His condition was probably due to his expulsion by the Others. Daniel was terrified of not knowing who he really was and what he had done. His memory slowly came back, but his personality has changed since his Ascension.

Schizophrenia was a side effect of Machello's organism

Jaffa Tattoos

As a sign of loyalty and allegiance, Jaffa are marked on the forehead with a symbol: the emblem of their master. For the Goa'uld, tattooing their Jaffa means they can easily identify the rank and allegiance of a captured enemy Jaffa. Some of these marks are also known on Earth: they are the symbols of mythical gods.

Anubis

The outline of a jackal's head, the animal that represented Anubis, god of the dead, in ancient Egypt.

Ba'al

Shaped like intricately drawn bull's horns. The bull was the animal form of Ba'al, the Egyptian god of storms.

Apophis

Symbol of a serpent in a circle, the sign of the Egyptian serpent god, Apophis.

Cronus

A symbol shaped like a double-bladed sickle, the tool used by the Greek god Cronus to kill his father, Uranus.

Hathor

Cow's horns framing the sun disc, the symbol of the Egyptian goddess Hathor, whose animal form was a cow.

Heru'ur

The falcon symbol, representing Horus, the sky god of the Egyptians.

Imhotep

An inverted step pyramid, honouring the Egyptian architect who built the first pyramid for King Djoser (c. 2700 BC).

Khonsu

A crescent moon resting on its edge. It is the symbol of the ancient Egyptian moon god, Khonsu.

Nirrti

Sanskrit sign for Nirrti, the Hindu goddess of destruction.

Ra

The Egyptian sun god, represented by an eye, which Ra removed to take revenge on mankind for disobeying the gods.

Seth

The head of a griffin-like animal set in a circle, the sign of the Egyptian god of chaos, Seth.

An inverted pentacle, symbolising evil. Sokar was an Egyptian god of the Memphis necropolis, the city of the dead.

Svarog

An anvil, representing Svarog, the Slavic god of sun and fire, patron of blacksmiths.

Tilgath

Meaning unknown. This Goa'uld took the name of the Assyrian king Tiglath-Pileser III (745–727 BC).

Military
Tattoos

Officers undergo a ritual in which their skin is cut with an orak knife, then molten metal is poured into the wound. Lower ranks are tattooed with black ink.

Yu

Chinese character meaning "centre". It represents Yu Huang, the "Jade Emperor" of Chinese mythology.

Religious
Orders

Their tattoos vary. Some share the design of military tattoos, but others differ, perhaps showing the priest's rank or membership of a sect. They are black for lower-ranking priests, pure gold or silver for the highest ranks.

The Priests of Apophis

They bear the star symbol seen on the larval pool on Chulak. It may identify a sect devoted to breeding Goa'uld larvae.
